Because you have forgotten who you are, a Spiritual being created by God in physical form - body, you are more likely to give up when "shit hits the fan." Rather than accept reality for what it is (that God is the only One in control here, not you or anyone/thing else for that matter) you choose instead to make up your own reality. It's called Denial. When brought to your attention in attempt to awaken you, you think you're being attacked and so you defend yourself by using Ego's lamest defense mechanism, "I'm not, perfect, I'm only human!"
Correction 1. Yes, you are perfect! Nothing God creates is imperfect, period! Correction 2. You are not only human and the reason you believe that is precisely why you suffer. Choose instead to allow the Holy Spirit to remind you to live by Faith not by sight so when "shit hits the fan," you will see it for exactly what it is and know what to do about it. You see, everything in Life happens for a reason, or there would be no reason for it. Life circumstances are a test and the reason for each test/circumstance is to determine with whom your Faith lies. Forget this and you will eventually grow weary and give up.
Here it is in a nut shell: See every challenging life situation for what it is, a test. Remember Who is in control at all times, God, not you! Put down worry, anger, fear, etc., by giving it to God and leave it there! Stay awake to what is real, the fact that We are all One and the same so that what brought you to the point of giving up will be exactly what brings you to the next phase in your life. And with the Holy Spirit as your guide, it's all good from here! Peace
