Because you have forgotten who you are, you take what is made up by Ego, Life Style and believe it to be True, by all the nonsense found in the media, in that your life style represents your accomplishments/success - in essence, who you are. You have yet to fully understand there is nothing on Earth that can validate you because your Creator is not of this planet and neither are you, you just forgot. For this reason, one will do just about anything to have that dream live, to the point where their own Soul is up for sale!
The need to be seen and/or acknowledged are Ego's primary requirements before doing anything because Ego always thinks of its self first. It must be beneficial to Ego in some way shape or form or it will have nothing to do with it. That is called Humility, which Ego knows nothing of, yet convinced you Humility means to think less of yourself. The trick here people, is Ego wants you to think less of yourself so Ego can fill you with more of it self. Beware however that's gonna cost you because Ego doesn't do anything for gratis!
Understand this one thing, you must invite the Holy Spirit to guide you along the way of Life because you've been lost in the dark for so long that what you see with your physical eyes is what Ego convinced you to be True which explains your confusion. There is one thing we (Human Beings) are in search of and that's Peace (of mind.) There is nothing on Earth like it, for Peace is a gift from God through the Holy Spirit's guidance, of which can only be received in the Present moment. Don't think you'll find Peace in the Past, it's a waste of Time because Peace can only be experienced Now, in the moment. Don't give up on Now in hopes of getting Peace in the Future. Hasn't it been clear by now that hasn't worked either?!? Don't fall for or or you'll pay for it! Peace
